Gordon continues to weaken as it tracks west-northwest across southern Mississippi. A large shield of moderate to heavy rain and 15 mph to 25 mph winds currently extends from east central Mississippi into west central and southwestern Alabama. Within this region, wind gusts locally as high as 40 mph are possible within the heaviest rainbands. Localized flooding and a few isolated power outages are possible.

Meanwhile farther south, there remains strong rainbands containing heavy thunderstorms over coastal Alabama, far western portions of the Florida Panhandle, and near Panama City. Locally damaging wind gusts, isolated tornadoes, and localized flash flooding are possible this morning from Mobile to Panama City. Locally up to an additional 6-8 inches is possible where heavy thunderstorms occur. These thunderstorms may exacerbate any already occurring power outage and flooding issues.

Our next full advisory will be issued by 10 AM.
