Other Disturbances / Areas to Watch
We have designated a weak surface trough over the Florida Panhandle as Disturbance 13. This was the disturbance that was mentioned during the past couple of days. While we expect this feature to remain over land and not develop into a tropical cyclone, it will bring rainfall to the northern Gulf coast through Wednesday. The greatest chance of rain and thunderstorms will be today through Tuesday for areas east of southeast Louisiana. For western Louisiana and the upper Texas coast, we expect the greatest chance of rain and thunderstorms to occur on the 4th of July.

Disturbance 11 is along 61W. It is moving westward at 25 to 30 mph. It is bringing squalls to the southern Windward Islands. However, no tropical development is expected.

Disturbance 12 is along 39W. it is moving westward at 20 to 25 mph. No tropical development is expected.

Disturbance 14 is about to move off of the coast of Africa. It has a large area of squalls associated with it. However, it is expected to encounter dry, Saharan air in the tropical Atlantic. This feature has a near zero percent chance of tropical development as it moves westward across the Atlantic.
