Other Disturbances / Areas to Watch
We still expect a nontropical low to form in the shaded region to the southeast of Newfoundland next week. Conditions may be somewhat favorable for the system to obtain tropical or subtropical characteristics, similar to that of Debby earlier this week. The chance of development remains 25 percent. If development were to occur, the system should move to the northeast, posing no threat to land areas.

Disturbance 25 is along 34W. It is moving to the west at 18 mph. This motion should continue. The disturbance is likely to bring enhanced rainfall to parts of the Lesser Antilles during the middle of next week. The disturbance remains poorly organized. There is a 10 percent chance of tropical development.

Disturbance 23 is located to the south of Puerto Rico along 66W. It is moving to the west near 15 mph. This motion is expected to continue. There is a large area of squalls to the north and east of the wave axis. However, there are no signs of organization. There is a near zero percent chance of tropical development.
