- The Captain of the Port New Orleans is issuing a safety advisory for the waters of the Port Allen – Morgan City Alternate Route at Mile Marker 62.7 Left Descending Bank (LDB). This advisory is needed to protect persons and vessels from the potential safety hazards associated with the Addis-Cohen transmission line repair and bulkhead installation. Beginning February 15, 2024, repair operations will be conducted Monday through Friday from 6 AM to 4 PM until construction operations are complete.Construction is expected to be completed in April 2024.
- A crane barge and material barge will be placed end-to-end, parallel to the bank. The total work zone will extend approximately 69’ off the LDB.
- Mariners are urged to transit at slowest safe speed to minimize wake in the area.
