  1. The Captain of the Port New Orleans is issuing a safety advisory for the waters of the Port Allen – Morgan City Alternate Route at Mile Marker 62.7 Left Descending Bank (LDB). This advisory is needed to protect persons and vessels from the potential safety hazards associated with the Addis-Cohen transmission line repair and bulkhead installation. Beginning February 15, 2024, repair operations will be conducted Monday through Friday from 6 AM to 4 PM until construction operations are complete.Construction is expected to be completed in April 2024.
  2. A crane barge and material barge will be placed end-to-end, parallel to the bank. The total work zone will extend approximately 69’ off the LDB.
  3. Mariners are urged to transit at slowest safe speed to minimize wake in the area.
