As you may be aware the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mississippi River Commission (MRC) canceled the upcoming High Water Trip in response to the COVID-19 outbreak.

The MRC has established guidance for members to submit written testimony to the Commission.

The guidance below offers testimony requirements with physical mail and e-mail options.

The Big River Coalition will submit comments via e-mail prior to the established deadline for testimony of Friday, April 3, 2020.

The Coalition encourages all that planned to attend the High Water Trip to submit testimony, as is standard the MRC will respond to all received comments.

The following was distributed by the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers New Orleans District:

As a reminder, the New Orleans District is soliciting testimony via “Filed for the Record” (written letter) for the FY20 MRC High Water Inspection Trip. The dates are from Monday, March 23, 2020 to a closing date of Friday April 3, 2020 for local organizations and members of the public to give their views or comments on any issue affecting the programs or projects of the MRC and the Corps of Engineers.

MISSISSIPPI RIVER COMMISSION (MRC) TESTIMONY REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Letter format
  2. Include your full name, organization, mailing and email addresses, and phone number
  3. Sign and date by the submitter
