The center of Michael is now in southwestern Georgia about 95 miles northeast of Panama City. The maximum sustained winds have decreased to 115 mph. Steady weakening is expected as Michael tracks through central Georgia through early tomorrow. There are no changes to our forecast at this time. Michael will emerge into the Atlantic Ocean late Thursday or early Friday as a tropical storm, then quickly transition into an extratropical cyclone as it races out to sea.
