Commencing on or about December 18, 2023, and continuing for at least five days, the Harvey Canal will be closed to navigation at the Harvey Canal Sector Gate, located just south of the Lapalco Bridge, on the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway (GIWW), Mile 2.8 West of Harvey Lock (WHL). This closure is due to emergency dredge operations for the Southeast Louisiana Flood Protection Authority West and will occur daily, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. with an opening from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to allow any vessels to pass.

All vessels shall transit at their slowest safe speed when passing the work site. The on-scene vessel M/V HUSTLER can be contacted on VHF Channel 13 for additional information.
