26FEB2024 **Update** The fender replacement operation has been extended. The new project completion date is September 27, 2024.
1. The Captain of the Port New Orleans is issuing a safety advisory for the waters of the Lower Mississippi River from Mile Marker (MM) 228.5 to 230 Above Head of Passes (AHP). This advisory is needed to protect persons and vessels from the potential safety hazards associated with the replacement of the fender system of the I-10 bridge, pier 6, on the left descending channel near MM 229.3. The operation will be conducted Monday through Saturday, 6 AM to 7 PM, from September 1, 2023 – February 28, 2024. Operations may at times extend into the channel which could cause delays.
2. Mariners are advised to transit at slowest safe speed to minimize wake whenever operating in the vicinity of the I- 10 bridge near MM 229.3.
