LAMA’s report on the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Mississippi River Maintenance Forum meeting held yesterday morning, Wednesday, June 7, 2023 is here and the corresponding agenda is here.

There was a second meeting to discuss an upcoming USACE Bank Stability project that is located at Greenville Bend at approximately Mile 101 Above Head of Passes favoring right descending bank with wide anchor spread. The work will be conducted during daylight hours only (0600 hours to 1800 hours) but will have severe restrictions for daytime ship and shallow-draft traffic, initial meeting proper parties with government agencies are considering options for transit restrictions with coordination. The work is of an important nature for back stabilization and navigation and industry will adjust to scheduled closures or restrictions through coordination with the stakeholders and government agencies. Details forthcoming, work would be expected to start in July 2023 daylight operations only with no navigation restrictions for nighttime traffic (expected).
