MSIB XXIII-008

1. As a result of the Bayou Sorrel river gauge reading 6.5 feet and falling:
A. The MM 37.6 to MM 45 one-way traffic restriction has been rescinded and is now open to all vessel traffic.
B. Lower Grand River (landside route by Bayou Sorrel) is now open to all commercial traffic.

2. In accordance with the Waterway Action Plan Baton Rouge Annex the following restrictions remain in place:
A. All mariners are advised to transit the area at minimum safe speed with no discernable wake from MM 37.6 to MM 45.
B. Vessels are advised to use caution when meeting or overtaking in the area.

3. These restrictions will remain in effect when the Bayou Sorrel Lock landside gauge is reading 5.5 feet and above.

This Marine Safety Information Bulletin supersedes Volume XXIII, Issue 05 Bayou Sorrel High Water Advisory 6.5 Feet and Rising, dated January 30, 2023.
