Uncrewed Vessel Surveying – Pass-a-Loutre, South Pass, and Southwest Pass
Mariners are advised that commencing on March 16, 2021 and continuing through March 31, 2021, in support of a large-scale hydrologic restoration project sponsored by the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority (CPRA), surveys of the Bird’s Foot Delta in southeastern Louisiana will be conducted using uncrewed vessels.
Two uncrewed 12’ x 4’ grey vessels, escorted by a 24’ pontoon vessel with a live crew, will conduct multi-beam surveys. Vessels will travel parallel to the river bank at the following locations:
• Entirety of Pass-a-Loutre- anticipated dates March 16-20, 2021
• Entirety of Southeast Pass, Northeast Pass, Dennis Pass and Garden Bay- anticipated dates March 20-28, 2021
• Portions of South Pass- anticipated dates March 28-29, 2021
• Portions of Southwest Pass

The survey vessels and associated support vessel will not infringe upon the navigable channel. Although there are no traffic restrictions during these survey operations, mariners are urged to use caution when transiting the areas.
