Due to HURRICANE ZETA, please be advised of the following:

This notice EXTENDS MSIB Vol. XX Issue 88a “UPDATED ST. Claude Bridge Repairs” dated August 31, 2020 until repairs are complete. The estimated project completion is November 23, 2020.

Commencing on or about September 5, 2020 and continuing through approximately November 3, 2020, the Port of New Orleans will affect permanent repairs to the St. Claude Avenue, State Road 46 bridge. The bridge is located across the Inner Harbor Navigation Canal Mile 0.5 and along the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway at MM 6.2, East of the Harvey Lock in New Orleans, LA. The construction will take place 24 hours a day, seven days a week. During this 60 day period, the bridge will not open to vessel traffic.

This closure will take place at the same time as the Inner Harbor Navigation Canal Lock closure which is scheduled to commence on or about September 4, 2020 and continue for approximately 60 days. Mariners wishing to transit the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway must utilize the established Alternate Route through Breton and Chandeleur Sounds as detailed in MSIB Vol XX, Issue: 087a.

Updates and/or changes to the published schedule will be disseminated via VTS email distribution and/ or Broadcast Notice to Mariners.
