Effective immediately, the U.S. Coast Guard Captain of the Port New Orleans advises mariners to use extreme caution and transit at minimum safe speed while transiting between Mile Marker (MM) 94.5 and 95.5 Above Head of Passes (AHP), Right Descending Bank (RDB), to facilitate the safe salvage of a sunken barge in the vicinity of the Zito Algiers Fleet. Salvage operations are estimated to continue for approximately two weeks.

The M/V SARAH PAIGE will be on-scene for the duration and may be contacted on VHF-FM Channel 67 or 88A. Any updates to the salvage operations will be communicated via Safety Broadcast Notice to Mariners.
