Other Disturbances / Areas to Watch
Disturbance 57 has been recognized along 48W. It is moving westward near 10 mph. Conditions are currently quite hostile for development. Therefore, the system is not likely to become any better organized over the next couple of days. It is expected to enhance shower and thunderstorm activity over the eastern and northeastern Caribbean on Tuesday and Wednesday.
By the middle of the week, the system may encounter more favorable conditions when it is north of the Caribbean and east of the Bahamas. It has a 40 percent chance of developing during this time. The good news is that the same weather pattern that is bringing the strong cold fronts to the eastern United States is also expected to steer the system back to the northeast and out to sea.
