Florence
As of the 4 AM EDT advisory, Florence was located about 830 miles to the east-southeast of Bermuda. Florence is moving to the west near 9 mph. This motion should continue for the next day or so. Thereafter, a faster motion to the west-northwest is expected. Winds are currently 65 mph. Helene
Disturbance 34 has become Tropical Storm Helene. Helene is located about 300 miles east-southeast of the Cape Verde Islands. Helene is moving slightly north of due west near 12 mph. Helene is forecast to pass near the southern Cape Verde Islands in about 24 hours. Winds are currently estimated at 45 mph. Helene could be near hurricane intensity when it moves near or over the Cape Verde Islands. Please see our latest advisory for more information.

Tropical Depression Nine
Disturbance 33 has become Tropical Depression Nine. The depression is located about 1730 miles east of Martinique. The disturbance is expected to move mainly to the west over the next several days, toward the Leeward and Windward Islands. Winds are currently estimated at 35 mph. By the time the system reaches the Lesser Antilles, it is forecast to be a hurricane. Please see our latest advisory for more information.

Other Disturbances / Areas to Watch
Disturbance 36 has formed along 67W, about 150 miles west-southwest of Bermuda. The disturbance is not forecast to move much over the next several days. There is only a 5 percent chance of tropical development. The most likely outcome is that this disturbance will be absorbed by Florence.

A nontropical low is expected to form north of the Azores in the early part of next week. There is a 30 percent chance that this low could become a tropical or a subtropical cyclone within the next 7 days.
