SUBJECT: Updated CBP Form 6043 [Delivery Ticket] Process

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Port of New Orleans will begin a 60 day automated delivery ticket pilot on Monday, March 12, 2018. Brokers, freight forwarders, carriers, cartmen, warehouse operators, all referred to as interested parties, may request approval from CBP to transfer merchandise within the Port of New Orleans limits by submitting a pdf copy of a completed CBP Form 6043 delivery ticket via email to: NewOrleansTET@cbp.dhs.gov. After CBP review, if the transfer is authorized, CBP will process the CBP Form 6043 delivery ticket, perforate, and return the form via email to the interested party.

Normal port processing time for approval of delivery tickets is eight (8) business hours from the time of submission. Port business hours are 0830 — 1700 hours Sunday Saturday.

Considerations:

  • Omissions or mistakes made by the interested party on a delivery ticket WILL delay the processing of the document.
  • Interested parties are encouraged to use their email READ RECEIPT and DELIVERY capabilities when submitting delivery tickets via e-mail.
  • Interested parties are urged to refrain from calling the Port Trade Enforcement Team [TET] to inquire about the processing of the delivery tickets within the eight (8) hour window.

Interested parties should use the most current CBP Form 6043 (9/16) which can be located on cbp.gov.

Questions regarding this notice should be directed to Chief Denise Emmer, Trade Enforcement Branch, at (504) 670-2052 or via email at: denise.emmer@cbp.dhs.gov.
