The northwest motion observed overnight may be ending. Recent satellite and radar imagery indicates that Alberto has made more of a north wobble during the past few hours. We expect a general north-northwest motion until landfall this afternoon, which is still likely to occur in the vicinity of Ft. Walton.
Satellite and radar imagery also indicates that a few squalls are starting to develop near the center. This could allow for some slight intensification before landfall. At landfall, winds are forecast to be 65 mph. These winds will affect a small area along the immediate coast. The main threat remains inland flooding.
The next full advisory will be issued at 9 AM CDT
