The Captain of the Port (COTP) New Orleans requests that Federal, State, local, and private sector partners continue to protect and preserve the Marine Transportation System (MTS) and safeguard the people and communities who live near and depend on the MTS for their livelihoods.

All members of the commercial maritime community are urged to do their part to safeguard the MTS. The COTP New Orleans urges all personnel to practice vigilance and follow the practices and procedures outlined in their Vessel Security Plan (VSP), Facility Security Plan (FSP), or Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) Facility Security Plan.

Security is everyone’s responsibility. The COTP New Orleans requests that any owner or operator required to have a security plan under 33 CFR Parts 104, 105, or 106 to report any suspicious activity or activities that may result in a transportation security incident to the National Response Center at the following:
