U.S. General Services Administration [GSA] New Orleans advised U.S. Customs and Border Protection [CBP] New Orleans that a segment of Canal St. will be closed to erect a large crane for rooftop HVAC work at the Marriott Hotel next door to the Customhouse.
The street closure is effective today and will last approximately 21 days, with intermittent lane openings. Parking in front of the Customhouse will not be allowed during the temporary street closure.
As a Reminder: CBP New Orleans has implemented a myriad of automated processes to temporarily eliminate the need for in-person CBP transactions due to COVD-19 restrictions. These processes remain in effect, and should alleviate adverse impact to the local trade community as a result of the temporary parking restrictions in front of the Customhouse.
