SUBJECT: Automation of CBP Collections and Receipts for Maritime Processing
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Port of New Orleans will begin the automated receipt pilot April 19. This will include Forms 368 Collections and the 1002 Tonnage Tax receipts. These changes will enable CBP personnel to collect payment and issue electronic eReceipts quickly and efficiently.
Phase 1, which begins today, allows for electronic 368 and 1002 receipts to be emailed to owner/operators and designated vessel agents in the pilot locations. Phase 2, the online payment option, will not be piloted until Fall 2017.
Other ports where the automated process will be piloted include Gulfport, Mississippi; Mobile, Alabama and Los Angeles/Long Beach, California seaports of entry.
