The U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Captain of the Port New Orleans will enforce the below Vessel Traffic Service (VTS) Safety Measure within the Captain of the Port New Orleans area of responsibility. This VTS measure is needed to protect persons and vessels from the potential safety hazards associated with a fireworks display.
All vessels are prohibited from entering the area unless they have been granted permission by the Vessel Traffic Service or the designated representative. All vessels requesting permission to enter or transit the area are required to contact the designated representative via the contact methods listed below.
- Red Stick Revelry Fireworks Display
- Date and time: December 31, 2024, from 11:45 p.m. until January 1, 2025 at 12:30 a.m.
- Location: Mile Marker (MM) 229.5 to MM 230, near Downtown Baton Rouge.
