05JAN2024 **Update** Due to forecasted weather, the fireworks display has been shifted to Sunday January 7, 2024. A safety zone will be enforced from 5:30 p.m. until 6:15 p.m.
The U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Captain of the Port New Orleans will enforce the below safety zone within the Captain of the Port New Orleans area of responsibility. This safety zone is needed to protect persons and vessels from the potential safety hazards associated with a fireworks display.
• Louisiana Governor’s Inauguration Ceremony Fireworks Display
1. Date and time: January 7, 2024, from 5:30 p.m. until 6:15 p.m.
2. Location: Mile Marker (MM) 229.5 to MM 230, near Downtown Baton Rouge.
3. Designated Representative: Mr. Daryl Armentor; Contact via VHF-FM Channels 16 or 67.
