1. The Captain of the Port New Orleans is issuing a safety advisory for the waters of the Lower Mississippi River near Mile Marker 228 Above Head of Passes (AHP). This advisory is needed to protect persons and vessels from the potential safety hazards associated with dredging operations in the forebay of the Port Allen Lock. The lock will be closed to navigation from 8:00 AM July 20, 2023, to 8:00 AM July 22, 2023.  

2. Mariners are urged to transit at their slowest safe speed in the vicinity of the dredging operations and proceed with caution after passing arrangements have been made.
