The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) Lower Mississippi River Forecast Center (LMRFC) released an update below on river stage conditions today.

“The system from last week has exited the area and the projected rainfall on Friday was less than expected over the Ohio and middle Mississippi Valleys.

The crest heights have been lowered 3 to 5 feet on lower Ohio and lower Mississippi Rivers from crests issued on Friday.  Forecast crests on the lower Mississippi River below the junction with the Arkansas River continue to remain the same due to this week’s forecasted rainfall over the Arkansas River.

The 16 day future rainfall model is not showing additional rises on the lower Ohio and lower Mississippi Rivers but it does extend elevated stages through the remainder of March.
