Waterway Status – Periodic Closures of the GIWW Lake Borgne Surge Barrier Sector Gate
In support of the U.S. Army Core of Engineers and South Louisiana Flood Protection Authority-East Hurricane Preparedness and Public Relations event, mariners are advised the GIWW Lake Borgne Surge Barrier Sector Gate will be closed on May 26 and 27, 2022 during the following times:
• Periodic closures on Thursday, May 26, 2022 from noon (local time) to 5 p.m.
• Closure on Friday, May 27, 2022 from 6 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
• Periodic closures on Friday, May 27, 2022 from 12:45 p.m. to 5 p.m.
