The Captain of the Port New Orleans is issuing a safety advisory for the waters of the Lower Mississippi River from Mile Marker (MM) 189.8 Above Head of Passes (AHP). This advisory is needed to protect persons and vessels from the potential safety hazards associated with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Channel Deepening Project and Enterprise-owned pipeline removal and replacement operations occurring along the right descending bank (RDB) and left descending bank (LDB) near MM 189.8. The operation will be conducted 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from December 6, 2021 – January 15, 2022. Operations may at times extend into the channel which could cause delays.
