The contractors working the dredge contract in the Hopper Dredge Disposal Area (HDDA), Great Lakes Dredge and Dock (GLDD) have postponed the two channel closures that were previously scheduled (September 2nd and September 4th). Based on the impact of Hurricane Ida and the continued channel closures on the Mississippi River Ship Channel, representatives from GLDD have confirmed that the previously scheduled channel closures will be rescheduled after maritime operations have resumed on the Ship Channel.
The U.S. Coast Guard’s had issued a Marine Safety Information Bulletin (MSIB) before Hurricane Ida, those conditions will most likely be the same, but at this point tentative dates do not exist.
Consider the dredge pipeline removal operations on hold until further notice.
