As a result of the Bayou Sorrel river gauge reading 6.5 feet and falling, the COTP New Orleans has implemented an advisory with the following restrictions in accordance with the Waterways Action Plan Baton Rouge Annex.

Bayou Sorrel Lock area:

All mariners are advised to transit the area at slow speed with no discernible wake from MM 37.6 to MM 45.  These restrictions will be in effect as long as the Bayou Sorrel Lock landside gauge reading is above 5.5 feet.

This Marine Safety Information Bulletin supersedes Volume XIX, Issue 035 Bayou Sorrel High Water Advisory 6.9 Feet and Falling, dated 22 May 2019.
