The Captain of the Port New Orleans has agreed to industry’s request to allow 20 barge tows with tugs of 6000 – 6400 HP to transit around Wilkinson Point with the following conditions:

• Contact VTS supervisor, who will contact TAV on-scene and consider waterway/environmental/meteorological circumstances
• Tug/tow WILL utilize TAV assistance
• VTS Supervisor has the discretion to reject the transit if conditions warrant in the Supervisor’s opinion (after speaking with operator and TAV)
