Tropical Storm Florence is located 375 miles west of the Cape Verde Islands. It is moving to the west-northwest at 12 mph. Maximum sustained winds are near 50 mph. Florence will continue on a track to the west-northwest to northwest over the next several days. There is no immediate threat to land. Please see our latest advisory for more information.

Tropical Disturbance 30 is moving through the Bahamas and eastern Cuba this morning. It is moving to the west-northwest at 8 mph. There is a 60 percent chance of tropical development as it moves across the northern Gulf of Mexico Monday through early Wednesday. It may become a tropical depression or tropical storm before making landfall on southeast Louisiana early Wednesday morning. Regardless of development, it will produce heavy rainfall across portions of the northern Gulf coast for the middle to latter part of next week. Please see our latest advisory for more information.

Other Disturbances / Areas to Watch
Disturbance 31 is located along 58W and is moving to move to the west near 20 mph. There is a near zero percent chance of tropical development. It will enhance shower and thunderstorm activity across the Lesser Antilles today into Monday.

Disturbance 33 has been identified over western Africa along 12W. It is forecast to move off the coast of Africa on Monday morning. There is a 30 percent chance of tropical development over the next seven days. Environmental conditions will only be marginal for tropical development as it passes just south and west of the Cape Verde Islands. If the disturbance were to develop, it would move west-northwest and remain well east of the Caribbean.
