The Greater New Orleans Port Safety Council will host the 7th Annual Marine industry Day Conference on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at the Ace Hotel. This valuable one-day program is presented in conjunction with USCG Sector New Orleans for the benefit of the maritime community and is free to attend, including complementary breakfast and lunch. In addition to the valuable information and networking opportunities, our conference format provides the opportunity to connect and communicate directly with our government partners from US Customs and Border Protection, the US Army Corps of Engineers, and NOAA/National Weather Service as well the US Coast Guard.
While we are still planning the agenda for this event, you can look forward to valuable presentations on Cybersecurity in the maritime environment, Subchapter M, Port State Control issues, and many more. The conference opens with breakfast and a morning session that includes presentations and panels on topics of interest to all attendees. Following lunch, we will move to our afternoon breakout sessions, which are focused on a variety of specific issues. Due to the diverse and dynamic nature of the maritime industry in Louisiana, policies and changes affect each company differently, and these afternoon sessions are designed for collaboration and communication. Attendees can listen and learn, then ask questions, share concerns and opinions, and develop ideas and solutions with local leaders of our government agencies and other industry professionals.
