RE: SOUTHWEST PASS TRANSIT RESTRICTION

The Bar Pilots for the Port of New Orleans restrict vessels with a deep fresh water draft of Forty-Five feet (45′) or greater to transit Southwest Pass from the Sea Buoy (Entrance Lighted Whistle Buoy “SW”) to Mile 1.5 above Head of Passes between 5 hours before high tide to 2 hours after high tide.

This restriction becomes effective at 1030 hours CST on July 14, 2017.

Nothing in this restriction should be construed as limiting a pilot in the exercise of his judgment.
