SUBJECT: EFFECTIVE JUNE 1,2003 ALL MONETARY INSTRUMENTS SUBMITTED TO U. S. CUSTOMS MUST BE MADE PAYABLE TO “CUSTOMS AND BORDER PROTECTION”
Due to the transfer of Customs into the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the name change to Customs and Border Protection (CBP) effective
June 1, 2003 all monetary instruments submitted to Customs must be made payable to “Customs and Border Protection”.
While the payee should be “Customs and Border Protection”, checks made out to any of the previously acceptable parties will be accepted.
