Please note an update on the schedule for work at Avondale Bend that work could complete on January 2nd and not January 3rd – the scheduled start at Saint Gabriel could start as early as January 4, 2020.

The second set of working dates for Plaquemine Bend were omitted from yesterday’s update.

The schedule for revetment operations at the remaining locations and expected transit restrictions are listed in the table below.

Adjustments to both the schedule of work and transit restrictions may be necessary considering a forecasted spike in river stages, changes will be distributed upon notification.

Working hours are from 0600 hours to 1800 hours, although completion is dependent upon multiple factors that could mean completing earlier or working later.

The Mat Sinking Unit will fold in at night – no night time transit restrictions are expected related to the revetment operations.

The U.S. Coast Guard is preparing a Marine Safety Information Bulletin (MSIB) to detail the transit restrictions for Saint Gabriel and Plaquemine Bend, when the MSIB is released a follow up message will be issued.

Vessel agents will be encouraged to coordinate closely with LAMA and the Federal and NOBRA Pilots to move vessels through the area of revetment operations at Saint Gabriel and Plaquemine Bend, especially for southbound traffic with deeper drafts.
