Beginning at 6:00 a.m. on August 26, 2019 and continuing through 6:00 p.m. on August 30, 2019, the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development will be affecting temporary repairs to the Pier 4 fender on the Sunshine Bridge (LA 70),
located at mile marker 167.5 on the Lower Mississippi River in Donaldsonville, LA.

For the duration of the project, there will be a staging area composed of multiple work barges that will be spudded to the river bottom.
The work barges are expected to encroach on the main channel by 50 feet, and the west channel by 25 feet, reducing the horizontal clearance between pier fender faces from 785 feet to 735 feet, and from 760 feet to 735 feet, respectively. The barges will display an all-around white light at night. The towing vessel CSS SAVANNAH will be onsite and can be contacted at (504) 450-1452.

Mariners are urged to transit at slowest safe speed to minimize wake and proceed with caution.
Updates and/or changes to the published schedule will be disseminated via VTS email distribution and/or Safety Broadcast Notice to Mariners.
