Mariners are advised that beginning on May 14, 2019 and continuing through May 17, 2019, the Harvey Canal Sector Gate will be closed to navigation from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. each day due
to necessary guidewall and gate repairs.

At times, however, the channel will only be restricted and light boats may pass at a slow speed on the opposite side of the channel after coordinating with the M/V BIENVILLE on VHF channel 13.
The U.S. Government plant will move out at night to allow passage of traffic.

The Harvey Canal Sector Gate is located just south of the Lapalco Bridge, on the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway (GIWW), Mile 2.8, West of Harvey Lock (WHL).

The Algiers Lock can be used as an alternate route. The point of contact with the New Orleans District is Jeff Olivero at 504-862-2362 (Work) or 504-388-7709 (Cell).
