Leslie
Hurricane Leslie is located about 480 miles to the south-southwest of the Azores. It is moving to the east-northeast at 28 mph. Maximum winds are near 90 mph. Leslie will remain a hurricane over the next day or two as it continues on a track to the east-northeast. Leslie will pass north of Madeira, then turn back to the west and affect the Canary Islands next week. The system will likely weaken to a remnant low next week. Michael
Extratropical Storm Michael is located 185 miles east-northeast of Norfolk, VA as of 5 AM EDT. It is moving to the northeast at 29 mph. Maximum winds are near 65 mph. Nadine
Tropical Storm Nadine is located about 740 miles west of the Cabo Verde Islands. It is moving to the west-northwest near 8 mph. Maximum sustained winds are near 50 mph. Nadine will weaken over the next few days and will dissipate this weekend. It is not expected to affect any land areas. Other Disturbances / Areas to Watch
Disturbance 49 is located along 81W. it is moving to the west near 12 mph. It may interact with the monsoon trough over the southwestern Caribbean over the next few days. Environmental conditions are expected to be marginal for development over the weekend and into early next week. There is a 20 percent chance of development. Any system that develops will move into Central America early next week. There are no indications that this potential system would move toward the northern Gulf of Mexico.

Disturbance 48 is located along 60W. It is moving to the west near 16 mph. No tropical development is expected as it moves across the Caribbean. It will enhance shower and thunderstorm activity across the Lesser Antilles for today.

Thunderstorms have redeveloped across the Bay of Campeche this morning. However, there is no definable rotation or disturbance in the Bay of Campeche this morning. Disturbance 52 has been removed from our analysis as a result.
