Other Disturbances / Areas to Watch
Disturbance 47 is situated along the coasts of Nicaragua and Honduras this morning. The system remains disorganized and weak. We continue to think that the system has a 50 percent chance of development over the next few days as it tracks northward into the Gulf.

We think the system will enter the southeastern Gulf near the Yucatan on Monday. Shower and thunderstorm activity is expected to increase across the north-central and northeastern Gulf of Mexico on Tuesday as the system pushes northward into the east-central Gulf of Mexico. Widespread winds of 25-35 mph are expected in the Gulf to the system’s north and east on Tuesday and Wednesday. If the system develops, winds of up to low end tropical storm force would be likely within squalls. Enhanced squalls, winds, and seas are likely in the north-central and northeastern Gulf of Mexico Tuesday, Wednesday, and possibly into Thursday. Due to unfavorable upper level winds, we do not anticipate this system becoming a hurricane. These upper level winds will also keep most of the squall activity to the north and east of the center of circulation.

Disturbance 48 is a weak tropical wave located in the eastern Tropical Atlantic along 32W longitude. The disturbance is moving westward at 10 mph. We think that development chances are less than 10 percent. It may dissipate before being able to reach the Caribbean.
