Gordon is moving over southern Mississippi. Since it has moved inland, it is gradually weakening. Winds are now estimated at 60 mph. These winds are confined to a small area within the eyewall remnant. Faster weakening is expected as Gordon moves farther inland.

A persistent heavy rainband has been affecting the Pensacola area during the past few hours. It likely will persist over the area for another few hours, until Gordon moves farther to the northwest. Heavy rains will also affect southern Alabama during the next few hours. Some flooding is likely to occur. Isolated tornadoes are also expected. Conditions for coastal Alabama are improving. However, additional heavy rains are possible as the rainband over Pensacola shifts to the west.

The next full advisory will be issued at 3 AM CDT.
