From the Port of New Orleans:

———————————–
Due to the anticipated storm surge and high winds associated with Tropical Storm Gordon, bridges owned by the Port of New Orleans on the Inner Harbor Navigation Canal (Industrial Canal) will close as follows:

ST. CLAUDE AVENUE BRIDGE
The St. Claude Avenue Bridge was closed to marine traffic at 6:00 AM this morning due to closure of the IHNC Lock, but there is no plan to close it to vehicular traffic at this time.

FLORIDA AVENUE BRIDGE
The Florida Avenue Bridge will be closed at 2:00 PM today, but the roadway floodgates were closed earlier today so it is currently inaccessible to vehicular traffic.  Upon closing the bridge at 2:00 PM, the lift span will be left in a partially raised position, at a height of 41 feet.

ALMONASTER AVENUE BRIDGE
The Almonaster Avenue Bridge will be closed to marine traffic at 2:00 PM today.

SEABROOK RAILROAD BRIDGE
The Seabrook Railroad Bridge was closed to marine traffic at approximately 10:30 AM today.

Personnel will return to the bridges tomorrow morning at 7:00 AM and the bridges will resume normal operations as conditions allow.
