Model guidance indicates that a nontropical area of low pressure is expected to form near the Outer Banks of North Carolina on Saturday morning. This nontropical low is then expected to move toward Long Island and New England by late Saturday or early Sunday. While we do not expect this feature to acquire tropical characteristics, we do expect winds near gale force for coastal areas of Long Island and southern New England late Saturday and early Sunday. In addition, locally heavy rains will be possible.

Disturbance 18 is along 65W, in the eastern Caribbean. it is moving westward near 22 mph. This motion should continue. No tropical development is expected.
