As of our latest advisory, Chris was located about 555 miles SW of St. John’s Newfoundland. It was moving to the northeast at 35 mph. The forecast is for Chris to move over the Avalon Peninsula of Newfoundland this afternoon. Chris is expected to bring gusts to hurricane force to the Avalon Peninsula. Other Disturbances / Areas to Watch
The remnants of Beryl are located along 74W, to the north of the Bahamas. The system is moving to the north at 5-10 mph. A turn more to the northeast is expected in a couple of days. Beryl should remain off of the East Coast. There are no signs of organization. However, environmental conditions are marginally favorable for development. The chance of development remains 30 percent. If Beryl were to redevelop, it would likely not intensify beyond minimal tropical storm intensity.

Disturbance 17 is along 26.5W. The disturbance is moving westward at about 15 mph. There are no signs of organization. Environmental conditions are unfavorable for development. Development is not expected.

Disturbance 16 can not be identified. Therefore, it has been removed from the analysis.
