“The National Waterways Conference (NWC), established in 1960, is the leading national organization to advocate for funding and common sense policies and laws that recognize the widespread public benefits of our nation’s water resources infrastructure.”

The NWC will host its Annual Summit in New Orleans this fall from September 12, 2018 to September 14, 2018 at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside (Two Poydras Street, New Orleans).

I am proud to represent the Big River Coalition as a Member of the Board for the NWC and encourage local attendance, please consider attending and/or sponsoring this first class event.

The NWC enjoys a beneficial working relationship with the leadership of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Agenda will feature key members of the USACE leadership and presentations from local stakeholders.

Many of the featured speakers, listed below, have been actively engaged on critical efforts to maintain the navigable or fluid commerce of the Mississippi River Ship Channel.

“Our conference program will include a Keynote Address by The Honorable R.D. James, the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works (confirmed).  Speakers from U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Headquarters include Major General Scott Spellmon, Deputy Commanding General for Civil and Emergency Operations; James Dalton, Director of Civil Works; and Edward Belk, Chief of the Programs Integration Division.  Providing a regional focus will be Col. Michael Clancy, USACE New Orleans District Commander; and Brandy Christian, President and CEO of the Port of New Orleans.”

Register today and join NWC and our local host, the Port of New Orleans, as the city celebrates its Tricentennial.
