In the 8 to 12 day time period, there may be a trough of low pressure located over the waters off of the southeast United States, extending across Florida, and into the Gulf of Mexico. Any troughs over these waters need to be closely monitored for signs of tropical development this time of year. At this time, it appears as if there is only a slight chance of any tropical development. In addition, in the unlikely event that any development were to occur, it likely would be a weak system.
