SUBJECT: Translations Required for Documents Presented to CBP in Foreign Languages

Per 19 CFR 4.7 and 141.86, all documents presented to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Port of New Orleans will be in English. If any document is in a foreign language, an English translation must furnished with the original document, and any required copies.
This particularly applies to all documents required for carrier entrances/clearances as well as cargo clearance documents, i.e. invoices, etc.

Issues with translations may be directed to the Trade Enforcement Team Supervisor in New Orleans or the Baton Rouge, Lake Charles, Morgan City, Gramercy and /or Shreveport Port Directors.
