The following is in effect at Shell Convent:
In light of the high water conditions, visiting ships and ocean going barges will be required to keep hold-in tugs at Shell Convent. Masters should seek pilot advice and use discretion when determining the number and horsepower of the tugs. Additionally, Shell Convent highly recommends that inland barges make use of an additional assist tug while docking.
The same is cancelled when the New Orleans gage reaches 14 feet and falling.
